Local FNB staff give back to the community

We donate funds from our own pockets.

The Randfontein branch of First National Bank (FNB) made donations to the Trudy’s Nest organisation in Toekomsrus in the form of canned food on 22 July.

According to the bank’s manager, Brima Sibanda this is one of their efforts of giving back to the community.

“We identify nonprofit organisations in Randfontein that could really do with some help in terms of donations.

“We as the FNB staff members donate funds from our own pockets that will go towards buying whatever the organisation needs.

“After donations have been made, we claim back the funds from our bigger branch and use that money to buy items we can donate to another organisation,” says Sibanda.

She adds that this will be an ongoing endeavour and to try and change people’s lives through this.

“What we are doing may not be much in people’s eyes but for some people it really makes a world of difference.

“We wish to sustain this culture of giving back and I hope other local businesses will be inspired by this and do the same.”
