According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, the woman was home during her lunch hour when she was overpowered by the two suspects.

The suspects apparently threatened her with a knife and and forced her into the bedroom, where she was continuously beaten and threatened.

The suspects tied the woman up, leaving her on the floor of the bedroom and started ransacking the house.

They demanded keys to the safe and took numerous items of jewellery.

They also managed to take household electronic equipment, cellular telephones, and computers before fleeing in the woman’s green Isuzu KB bakkie with registration number DDY 265 GP.

The bakkie has not been recovered.

Police would not divulge whether the woman was raped or not.

Ernst has urged with people who live in the vicinity and who might have seen two young men, one of light complexion and the other darker, loitering in the area, to contact the police.
