Visit the Heals for Healing exhibition

Become part of the fight against women and child abuse by visiting the Westonaria Library's Heals for Healing exhibition during the month of August.

Make sure to visit the Westonaria Library during the month of August to see the exciting Heels for Healing exhibition.

Zivaglo (Pty) Ltd – www.Zivaglo.com – has created a dynamic and mobile exhibition platform with the aim to foster creative talent in South Africa and abroad, while simultaneously raising proceeds for the Heels for Healing initiative.

Heels for Healing hopes to raise awareness and funds for abused women and children.

With the shoe project the organisers invited 25 celebrities and artists such as Riaan Cruywagen, Edith Venter, Elvis Blue and Portchie to mention a few, to decorate a shoe in a way that represents their essence as a person.

Each person’s shoe represents their understanding of the theme ‘Travelling Light”.

It invites the audience to think about what their shoe will look like if they had to make one.

These amazing end products and their stories formed part of the Zivaglo ‘Travelling Light’ exhibition that took place at the US Woordfees in Stellenbosch from 1 to 10 March 2013.

These shoes will now be on silent auction and the proceeds will be distributed through the Heels for Healing initiative.

You can partake in the silent auction at the Westonaria Library exhibition anytime during August.

Tickets for the opening costs R20 per person and only R10 for pensioners and can be obtained from the library.

Phone Esme Kuipers or Louisa Pretorius for more information about the opening on Saturday 27 July at 1pm.

If you are interested in being part of this empowering experience, please contact Cecile Walters on 082 456 0136 or Alice Pitzer from the Alice Art Gallery on 083 377 1470 to put a price on one of these beautiful shoes or to attend a workshop and create your own Heals for Healing shoe.
