A local café was robbed by five men on 11 July.
The men, all dressed in blue overalls, entered the CBD shop at approximately 6.30pm and held the 25-year-old shopkeeper at gunpoint.
The suspects closed the shop’s doors to prevent customers from getting in, demanded cash, and took numerous items from the shelves.
Two friends of the shopkeeper, who were in the store at the time, were assaulted by the robbers.
One was hit on the head and the other was stabbed.
The suspects then locked the victims inside the shop before fleeing on foot.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, the injured parties were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
