Westcol holds an awards ceremony to honour learners

Westcol holds an awards ceremony to honour their students.

Westcol Randfontein Campus held an awards ceremony on 16 July in the school’s hall.

This was to honour students who have obtained high marks in their studies and to show appreciation for their efforts.

According to Student Support Facilitator Thandeka Swelinko, it is vital that hard-working students are acknowledged; it motivates them to keep working hard.

“Such events tend to show students that their efforts do not go unnoticed.

“Above all else, we just want to encourage them to continue working hard and obtaining good results.

“At no point must they sit back and think that it is okay to put in minimum effort.

“They must understand that in order to attain good marks, they have to be willing to put in the hard work,” says Swelinko.

According to Student Support Manager Wilma van Jaarsveld, pupils who have been selected are those studying marketing, engineering, office admin and business studies.

“They really have done as proud as a school and I am sure I speak for their parents when I say they too are proud of their children.

“We hope that they continue working hard and producing such remarkable results.

“I wish that they can lead by example and inspire the rest,” says Jaarsveld.
