Man robbed at home

A Randfontein man was attacked in his home by two armed men.

A 41-year-old Randfontein man was robbed in his house by two armed men on 8 July.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, the man left his house at approximately 6.30am.

“He went outside and started his vehicle, a Kia Sportage, and went back inside the house while the vehicle was warming up,” says Ernst.

“The victim then apparently heard voices in the house and when he turned around, he found two armed men right behind him in the bedroom.”

Ernst says that the suspects allegedly demanded bank cards and cellular telephones after they established that the victim did not have any cash to hand over.

The suspects took the bank cards and cellular telephones and fled from the scene in the victim’s Kia Sportage.

The vehicle was recovered approximately two hours after the incident in the Soweto area.

No injuries were sustained and no shots were fired.
