Workers at the Randfontein Dumping Site in Toekomsrus discovered the body of a fully formed fetus in a rubbish bag on 2 July.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, Sector 2 patrol officers were called out to the dumping site at approximately 3.30pm where worker informed them about a suspicious bag.
They investigated and made the grizzly discovery.
A case of concealment of birth has been opened and is being investigated.
Police have called on the community of Randfontein to iform them of anyone who was pregnant but is suddenly not anymore.
The fetus was removed to a government mortuary.
The investigating officer, Warrant officer Disco Thieane is urging any person who might have information regarding this incident, to contact him on 011 ) 278 8100.
