Wheatlands: Dogs poisoned by criminals

The suspects killed my dogs to get access into my yard.

A furious Wheatlands resident is offering a reward of R500 to anyone who might have witnessed an incident where his dogs were killed and his motorbike stolen on 5 July.

According to resident Stoffel Potgieter he went to Monte Casino with his friend and when he returned both his dogs were alive.

“I arrived home at approximately 10.30pm and I went to bed.

“The following morning I went outside to open the gate at approximately 7am and that is when I made the shocking discovery,

“First I discovered that my boundary fence had been tampered with.

“To my surprise, I then saw my dogs lying lifeless on the ground,” says Potgieter.

He adds that he went to investigate why his dogs were not rowdy as usual and discovered that they had been poisoned.

He then walked to his garage and saw that his motorbike, a yellow Bashman 250cc scrambler was missing.

“I believe that my bike was targeted because nothing else was stolen from the garage.

“I have a new gearbox in there and other valuable items but they were not stolen.

“It is evident that the suspect wanted nothing else but the motorbike and killed my dogs to get access to my yard,” says Potgieter.

Anyone who might have any information with regards to the motorbike in question can contacted Potgieter on 082 7924 478.
