Traffic officers on another massive roadblock

People are still negligent drivers and have no respect for road rules whatsoever.

Randfontein law enforcement departments has staged a massive roadblock on Randfontein Road between Randfontein and Azaadville on 3 July.

Police and traffic officers conducted vehicle inspections and issued traffic fines to any and everyone who was in contravention with road rules.

According to Randfontein Traffic Chief Kenny Mampondo, this is just one of the many roadblocks aimed at rooting out destructive elements on Randfontein roads.

“It is rather disturbing to see that motorists still insist on being a danger to other motorists.

“People are still negligent and have no respect for road rules whatsoever.

He adds that motorists were caught speaking on their cellphones while driving and says that this is the greatest contributor to road carnage.

Officers say that they found numerous defects on vehicles in the form of warn out brakes, head lights that are not working and worn out tires.

“People need to realize that these are just a few of the many defects likely to contribute to an accident.

“I cannot stress enough how dangerous it is to travel in a vehicle that is not in a good condition,” says Mampondo.
