A 27-year old man was overpowered and his house ransacked on Thursday 6 June at approximately 12.30am.
The man apparently awoke to noises in the house and went to investigate.
He was overpowered by seven suspects, two of which were armed with knives, demanding cash.
They forced the man into one of the rooms in the house and bound his hands and feet.
They fled arter ransacking the house, taking a television set and a cellular phone.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, the man was not seriously injured during the incident.
