Woman hijacked at gunpoint

A Mohlakeng woman was hijacked in gunpoint in her own driveway on 31 May.

The 40-year old woman had apparently returned home at around 8.15pm, and had left the vehicle to open the gate and garage door.

When she returned to the vehicle she was confronted by four armed men who, at gunpoint, demanded her car keys.

She handed over the keysd and the men fled from the scene in her navy blue VW Polo with registration number BM 88 GJ GP.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, captain Appel Ernst, the woman did not sustain any injuries during the incident and no shots were fired. “Anyone who might have seen the incident, is requested to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant J Ntuli, at VISS in Lenasia,” says Ernst.
