A 17-year-old Randfontein girl was raped outside a shebeen on 2 August.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, the girl was having drinks with friends when, at approximately 11pm, someone alerted her that one of her friends had gotten into a fight outside the shebeen.
“When she went outside to investigate, she was grabbed and dragged to a secluded area nearby,” says Ernst.
“The suspect also grabbed her cellular phone and broke it.”
Ernst says that the suspect is known to the victim.
“The suspect then assaulted the girl and kicked her to the ground before undressing and raping her.
“She investigating officer Constable Masoba, would appreciate any information that might assist her in the investigation. She can be reached on 011 951 1111,” says Ernst.
