Officers launch a manhunt for 15 suspects

He suspects that the robbery was intended to sabotage the business as the suspects only took the company's computer server and nothing else.

The Randfontein police together with Piquant Security are on a massive manhunt for 15 suspects in connection with a business robbery that occurred on 28 June in Bongweni, Randfontein.

This after a15 men broke into a prominent business in Bhongweni, Randfontein and stole their computer server.

According to Piquant Security reaction officer Riaan Dekker, he suspects that the robbery was intended to sabotage the business as the suspects only took the company’s computer server and nothing else.

“Our client noticed someone trying to tamper with the gate and pressed the panic button before going out to investigate.

“When he arrived at the gate, one suspect armed with a firearm approached him and ordered him not to scream.

“Three more suspects emetrged and went to the gate.

“They then ensued to tie the man to a street pole with a barbed wire,” says Dekker.

He adds that during this time, 11 other suspects appeared at the scene and jumped over the company’s boundary wall

They entered the office and took nothing but a computer server.

Seconds later, reaction officer Koos Pelser arrived at the scene to investigate the panic alert.

“Upon arrival, he came face to face with the suspects and fired a warning shot.

“The suspects ran to the other side of the building where they jumped over a boundary wall and fled on foot.

“Pelser then assisted the client who sustained injuries, and immediately called the police who also attended the scene.

“We are currently following a positive lead and are confident that arrests will follow soon,” says Dekker.
