The municipality continues to ignore potholes and badly constructed speed humps

As a resident of Randfontein, I would like to raise concern at the fact that months after reading about potholes in the Herald and residents raising concern in that regard, it does not seem that the municipality has done much.

Currently my car is in a condition of its own and my tires have worn out owing to these potholes and I cannot even begin to mention the expenses I will pay towards getting new tires.

I am pretty sure that I am not the only one sitting with this problem but other residents too.

Now my question then becomes directed to those in power at the municipality as I fail to understand why they have not fixed these roads and I need not hear about financial problems because that is nonsense.

Please do not tell me that they are unaffected because they too make use of these road.

I just think that they earn enough for them not to care about the problems that we residents have.

Now what should happen with the rest of us poor struggling citizens who have to wait literally for month end to afford to repair the slightest damage on our cars.

Needless to say that these damages are caused by the many potholes and poorly constructed speed bumps throughout Randfontein.

Now surely I shouldn’t be sitting with this problem considering that I always pay for my rates and taxes.

Kindly tell me what is happening with that money.
