A popular hardware shop in Park Street in the Randfontein CBD was robbed at gunpoint on 6 July.
According to Randfontein saps spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, the 37-year-old shopkeeper was busy in the shop when a man entered the shop with a firearm.
He held the shopkeeper at gunpoint and demanded cash.
The shopkeeper, fearing for his safety and that of his customers, handed over an amount of money and the suspect fled on foot.
According to Ernst, no shots were fired and no injuries were sustained during the ordeal.
