Ministry joins CHOC in cancer awareness prayer walk

A cancer awareness prayer walk was held in Mohlakeng recently to advocate for those fighting cancer.

Let My People Go Ministries collaborated with the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC) to host a cancer awareness prayer walk recently.

Multiple people gathered at Ralerate Street wearing shades of white and pink to represent those battling cancer.

The registration fee included dignity pack donations for young boys and girls. The group walked 5km which concluded at 7851 Buthelezi Street. During the walk, the group stopped at multiple intersections to pray and spread awareness.

Marousi Mzondi from the ministries stated the walk was also aimed at raising awareness about the Human Papilloma Virus as well as the importance of vaccination.

“We want to encourage parents to permit their daughters [grade five to seven] to be vaccinated. This means children in all schools, including public, private and special schools,” she stated.

Marousi added it is important to pray without ceasing.

National Awareness Co-ordinator for CHOC Muzi Ngwenya, stated they joined hands with the ministry in 2024 and decided to do it once again this year.

“We are part of the community and therefore we felt it was necessary to give our support,” he said.
