No injuries following major farm fire

At least two fire trucks and more than 10 firefighters were called to a farm on Dennydale agricultural holdings.

No deaths or injuries were sustained when a massive fire broke out at a farm situated on Dennydale agricultural holdings at about 11:00 on July 18.

According to a neighbour, Jaco Reid, who helped put out the fire, there were several tyres on the property that caught fire. He explained he had a water cart he used to help extinguish the fire.

Fortunately, no one was hurt during the blaze and only the veld caught fire. He further mentioned there was one building nearby where the window burst and the curtain caught fire, but the resident was unharmed.

Acting executive director for Public Safety at the West Rand Fire Department, Nico Kahts added fire services responded at 13:11 after they received the call at 13:09.

They arrived with two service trucks and 11 personnel members and the fire was extinguished.
