Animal Aid Warriors has two new intakes

Their road to healing may be a long one, but there are high hopes for the new kittens currently in foster care.

It may be a long road of recovery ahead for two kittens taken in by the Animal Aid Warriors, but they are up for the task.

Twanette Lawson, the foster mom to the kittens, explained that one kitten is around 10 weeks old and has trouble with putting pressure on its hind right leg. They did X-rays but could not see that the leg had been broken before.

The other kitten is a ginger and is around seven weeks old. Both its hind legs fold to the inside.

She then contacted Naomi from Animal Aid Warriors to assist. They were both taken to the vet to determine whether their legs could be fixed with manipulation or if surgery would be necessary. After imaging of the legs was sent to a specialist, it was determined both kittens would need surgical procedures.

Naomi explained they would have to fully recover before they could be adopted.

“It would be dangerous if they are brought into a new environment and they could get hurt if frightened. Their new owners would have to be aware of how to care for them,” she said.

Twanette noted she will keep the kittens if they can not be rehomed.

She added both kittens have been dewormed and vaccinated. They are currently eating mousse as well as mother and baby pellets and they are drinking water well.
