Successful netball tour for Jannas

Hoërskool Jan Viljoen High School's first netball team is on a high following a successful tour.

Hoërskool Jan Viljoen High School’s first netball team experienced a successful Jaru Sports Tour.

During the tour, held from March 30 to April 1, the first netball team had the opportunity to test their skills and participate in activities – even teambuilding exercises not to mention play matches.

Busi Gumbo, Nthabiseng Tau, Thando Gwagwa and Dezelle Nel were invited to the Dubai 7s Netball Tournament.

According to the first team coach, Megan Gebhardt, the girls enjoyed the tour and planned to reach big goals.

She stated that the team achieved second place while one of the team members, Thando Gwagwa, also received an award for Best Progress. Megan further stated that Busi Gumbo, Nthabiseng Tau (captain), Thando and Dezelle Nel (vice-captain) were selected to participate in the Dubai 7s Netball Tournament that will be taking place in December.

Thando Gwagwa won the trophy for Best Progress.

“I am immensely proud of the girls. They have been working hard and therefore I believe they deserve the recognition,” Megan said.

She believes that Jannas will be extremely successful this year.

“We are excited for the league matches that lie ahead. We’ll bring it!”
