Hoërskool Jan Viljoen High School bids farewell to one of their trusted educators, Suzelle du Plooy.

Suzelle officially retired on March 20 and spokesperson Charl Ludick described Suzelle as a remarkable educator, adding that the school is grateful for her unwavering dedication.

“Throughout the years, she has not only been a valued colleague and mentor but also a beacon of inspiration to us all. Her passion for teaching has touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she has guided,” Charl claimed.

Charl expressed that the school wishes her continued happiness as she embarks on the journey of her retirement.

“May the warmth of her spirit and the wisdom of her teachings continue to resonate for many years to come. Thank you, Suzelle, for everything,” Charl concluded.

Suzelle stated that she started her teaching career in 1986. In 1989 she started at Hoërskool Westonaria. Thereafter, in 1995 she decided to resign from teaching and attempted a field in the private sector. She returned to Hoërskool Westonaria and continued working until 2007.

Her career at Jan Viljoen started in June 2007 where she taught English for 13 years.

“I will surely miss the day-to-day contact I had with the learners and colleagues. However, I think the time has come to allow younger teachers to excel in teaching,” Suzelle concluded.
