Daycare and SPCA take hands

The Randfontein Herald visited the daycare and it became evident that it is a convenient spot for drop-offs, as it is located on Lazaar Avenue.

Bob and Wendy Nursery School is offering a helping hand to the RandWest SPCA by volunteering to become a drop-off point for donations.

This comes as people are struggling to reach the organisation whenever they want to make donations and assist the animals, as the organisation’s office is in somewhat of a secluded area.

The Randfontein Herald visited the nursery school and it became evident that it is a convenient spot for drop-offs as it is located on Lazaar Avenue in Randgate.

The owner of the daycare Christa Marx said they decided to do this to help the community that is determined to assist the SPCA.

“We wanted to do this to assist the community that wishes to help the SPCA but cannot do it because they can’t get to their offices due to numerous reasons. Our school is on the main road and is easily accessible to locals. Even parents of children who attend here can see the good that we do and want to donate as well,” said Marx.

She added that anyone who wants to drop off items can do so at their premises and they will then contact the SPCA, to pick up the donated items.

Meanwhile, the daycare had also decided to donate a few items to the SPCA, to set the tone.

The Herald spoke to Naomi de Beer from the SPCA who said she is thrilled with the donation and the kind gesture of the daycare being offered as a drop-off point.

“I’m very happy about this. Our Randfontein office is situated in a peculiar spot, so with them being a drop-off spot for us, it will make things so much easier not only for us but for the public to support us,” said de Beer.
