No serious injuries reported in early-morning crash

Eyewitness claims the driver of a Chevrolet Spark was smashed into as she was pulling into the driveway at work.

The flow of traffic was affected along Homestead Avenue on August 23 following an early-morning crash involving two light motor vehicles – a Chevrolet Spark and BMW. This was shortly after 08:00 near a string of businesses operating on the particular road.

Officials from First Help towing company were also at the scene and helped to tow away the BMW that was involved in the crash.

While the exact cause of the crash will be determined through an investigation, the Randfontein Herald spoke to an eyewitness at the scene, Anuschka Myburgh, who claims a BMW crashed into the Chevrolet on its left side. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

“The driver of the Spark was coming from a service station and travelled down the road and headed to the office. She indicated and changed lanes and just as she was about to pull into the driveway at work, the driver of the BMW who was travelling up the road, heading towards the direction of a popular restaurant in Greenhills, failed to apply brakes on time and subsequently smashed into the Chevrolet,” said Myburgh.

She added that she contacted the necessary authorities and informed them about the incident.
