“Reaction officer Douw Willemse was first at the scene and that’s where he encountered two robbers who were exiting a clothing shop with a bag full of cash and cellphones. During this time that one of them was taken into custody and the other managed to get away but was later apprehended by the police,” said Krogh.

He added that the third robber was arrested at a later stage by police officers and that no fourth robber was involved as initially believed.

According to Krogh, the fourth person believed to have been a robber at the time was a customer that was held hostage and was used temporarily as a distraction and released thereafter.
