Help Pink Angels Cares buy a new home

The CEO of Pink Angels Cares' home was demolished earlier this year and now she plans to buy a Wendy house to operate from. They need R50 000 and you can make a difference.

CEO of Pink Angels Cares NPC Demi van Wyk needs help in the form of monetary donations that will help in securing a new home in the form of a Wendy hut house.

This comes after her home was demolished recently during an eviction process initiated by Sibanye-Stillwater after a ground stability report indicated a high risk of dolomite-related sinkhole formation in the area.

Speaking to the Randfontein Herald, Van Wyk said she needs R50 000 for the structure. She has since received a donation of R500.

“In April this year, our home was demolished in Venterspost apparently due to a sinkhole. As a result, our whole lives were torn apart. My children had to stay at my in-laws while my husband and I slept on the street for three nights trying to safeguard our belongings after the evictions. What happened to us is bad and I do not wish it upon my worst enemy,” Van Wyk said, who added that she just wants their lives back.

She has since been struggling to get the soup kitchen running like before, as she does not have a formal structure where she can operate from.

Despite this, she remains grounded in the community and still extends a helping hand where she can.
