Vispol Senior Commander at Randfontein SAPS Lieutenant Colonel George Mamohe, Meshack Kgatlane from Gauteng Traffic Police and Reginald Ntsoelengoe from Community Patrollers addressed the patrollers from Randfontein SAPS and crime prevention wardens ahead of them hitting the streets.

“We intend to flood the town with our presence but crime especially at malls is of great concern as criminals are repeatedly taking advantage of people by robbing them during the day. As a result, we have instructed members to monitor the situation at Village Square Mall and Station Mall both in the CBD.

Crime prevention wardens worked hand in hand with patrollers from Randfontein SAPS to tackle crime in the streets of Randfontein.

“Members will also be deployed to the Spar on Main Reef Road because it has come to our attention that there are people stealing batteries at the parking slots in that area. A person will park their car and when they come back, their battery is gone,” said Mamohe.
