“It has come to the attention of the police that many fraud cases have been registered by the community members of Westonaria. Properties such as motor vehicles and electric appliances are advertised on social media and are being sold at a reasonable price. The victims will be communicating with the suspect via cellphone and asked to deposit cash. As soon as cash is transferred, there will be no trace of the suspect,” said Sefara.

The Westonaria Police station commander Colonel Jurie Ferreira is appealing to the community to be careful when buying products from social media, as they end up getting lured off their money and not getting the property they purchased.
