Randgate Clinic closed due to strike

'EPWPs chased all patients out of the facility and ordered nursing staff to leave their working stations' – West Rand District Health Services communications officer.

Randgate Clinic is closed until further notice as a result of strike action.

West Rand District Health Services communications officer Nomagugu Hloma confirmed to the Herald the clinic was functioning as normal on Monday morning, March 6 but at approximately 09:30 Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) employees declared they are supporting the National Education, Health, and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu) strike and thereafter engaged in protest action.

EPWPs chased all patients out of the facility and ordered nursing staff to leave their working stations.”

Hloma stated that sub-district manager Charles Segatlhe is currently attending to the matter and updates with regard to any new developments will be given in due course.
