Matric results for class of 2022 to be released from 18:00

This will give an indication of how the matriculants in different parts of the country faired in terms of the provincial level performance.

The moment the matric class of 2022 throughout the country have been waiting for is slowly approaching as the Department of Basic Education is set to release the National Senior Certificate results (NSC) on Thursday evening, January 19.

The announcement will be made at a ceremony to be held at the Mosaïek Church in Fairland from 18:00.

This will give an indication of how the matriculants in different parts of the country faired in terms of the provincial level performance. The announcement is also set to indicate the overall pass rate for the class of 2022 and show either an improvement or decline in the pass rate achieved by the class of 2021.

Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga previously announced that the 2021 National Senior Certificate (NSC) overall pass rate stands at 76,4 percent.
It showed an improvement of 0,2% from the pass rate achieved by the class of 2020.

Meanwhile, matriculants will have their moment of truth tomorrow [Friday, January 19] when they will receive their individual matric results in person.
