Dance studio celebrates 21 years with show-stopping performance
Melissa Badenhorst Dance Studio celebrated more than 20 years of existence with a two-hour show at Jannas.
The Melissa Badenhorst Dance Studio in Greenhills celebrated 21 years in style on Friday night, December 2, with a two-hour show at Hoërskool Jan Viljoen.
The event showcased a wide range of talent from the studio, including ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and tap dancing. The items were performed by students aged 3 to 18, who also revisited items performed 17 years ago, including the show-stopping All That Jazz.
Founder of the dance studio Melissa Badenhorst said the event was well attended and professionally produced.
“A lot of people were in attendance at the event and it was so beautiful to witness. Performers and the audience expressed their delight in returning to a full attended live show after lockdown,” Badenhorst said.
She added that they had an emotional moment when one of the first dance studio students returned to the stage after 21 years and performed an item with her daughter who is also now a student at the Melissa Badenhorst Dance Studio.
