Mayor sticks to her service delivery word

Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) Executive Mayor Gladys Khoza is continuing her efforts of rendering service delivery to the different parts of the communities in the region.

This is through her weekly Ntirhisano Service Delivery Fridays campaign where she dedicates herself to attending to the infrastructural challenges that her region faces – every Friday.

During this time, Khoza rolls up her sleeves and repairs potholes, paints road markings, cleans storm water channels and assists in fixing high mast lights.

Her latest visit was on November 18, where she visited different streets of Culemborg Park in Randfontein to carry out maintenance work.

Khoza said the initiative was launched on July 18 this year and is aimed at addressing some of the challenges residents face in the region.

“I teamed up with Ward 7 Councillor Craig Harrison and all the departments, as well as with the members of the community and we got down to work. Some of the activities undertaken were filing of potholes, repainting road markings and cleaning illegal dumping sites. We also went on to assess the natural wetland situated inside the bird sanctuary site.

“The area is one of the economic hubs which comprises big companies such as Aranda textiles, RCL Foods and Denova toilet paper manufactures,” said Khoza.

The Bird Sanctuary is situated just behind these giant companies and is well-known for the different types of birds and animals found there.
