Teine ends year with touch rugby tournament

'The purpose of the event was to have all players come together one last time this year'.

Randfontein Rugby Club hosted a touch rugby tournament to end off the year on a light contact note.

The tournament was held at the Greenhills Sport Stadium from 18:00 to 19:00 on Wednesday, November 23.

Participating teams were Team Shaka, Mossies, Koppietee, Spoeg en Plak, Randgate Rangers, Untouchables and Kings Knights with Mossies coming out on top.

“The purpose of the event was to have all players come together one last time this year,” said Randfontein Rugby Club manager Lulu Kleyn.

She added the atmosphere was really good and spectators came out in large numbers to cheer on their team next to the field.

“It was really just for fun and to tie up the whole year. It wasn’t nothing serious and everyone had a jol,” said Kleyn

The winning team was sponsored with five cases of beer which they shared with everyone.

“Teine had a very good 2022 and we are hoping for an even better one next year,” she concluded.
