Mohlakeng learners strut their stuff at school pageant

Tswelelo Primary School held its beauty pageant at the school last Friday.

Tswelelo Primary School in Mohlakeng hosted its beauty pageant on October 28 where scores of learners participated.

The pageant started shortly after 10:00 and pulled in a massive crowd of all the learners of the different grades.

Kobe Thapelo and Reamogetse Mthethwa are among the senior boys who participated in the pageant.

It consisted of more 30 junior and senior learners of the school – who strut their stuff and impressed spectators.

The Herald spoke to Setswana and Creative Arts teacher Jostina Rakodi who said the event is an important social activity that instils confidence in the learners.

Mbali Hosene, Mokgadi Sixolo and Keamogetswe Nkashe are some of the juniors who took park in the pageant.

“I have seen that it is very much important to do this activity because we are in the primary school level and are in the business of teaching and nurturing the talent of these young ones. They cannot all be good academically, but they might excel in other areas.

“Some of them are going to be tomorrow’s presenters and some are going to be in the modelling space. It is also imperative for them to boost their self-confidence, so that they can have good self-esteem in whatever journey they embark on,” said Rakodi.

Watlegile Moshoeshoe, Gift Sixolo and Amogelang Mabula were getting ready for the pageant.

The participants also had an opportunity to change into the different attires and also had a question-and-answer session.
