Leila, 17, wins Sables Ladies Invitational Masters

Leila Snyman started playing bowls six years ago with her parents.

Star bowler Leila Snyman, who is part of the Randfontein Bowling Club recently won the Sables Ladies Invitational Masters at the age of 17.

The tournament was held at the Krugersdorp Bowling Club on Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16.

Krugersdorp Bowling Club spokesperson David Parker said Leila, who is a learner at Hoërskool Riebeeckrand, started playing bowls with her parents Erica Snyman and Deon Snyman six years ago at the Randfontein Bowling Club.

“She has represented Sables in the U15 and U20 age group in Bloemfontein over the past two years. She also played in the Gauteng Open Tournament and has had very good results,” said David.

He added that she has shown by her play and temperament that she has a bright future in bowls.

“Members of the Randfontein club were on the bank to support their bright new star. Keep up the good work Leila we will be following your progress.”
