EPR West Rand show off their skills at Reaction Man competition

EPR West Rand recently showed off their skills during the Reaction Man competition which is a prestigious annual event hosted by the South African Intruder Detection Services Association (SAIDSA) and sponsored by Toyota SA.
After an absence of two years due to the pandemic, the 14th annual competition was hosted at the Dwarskloof Shooting Range and Randfontein Oval Track, and the prize-giving at Su Casa Restaurant at Lund Auctioneer on Thursday, August 18.
EPR general manager Johan Krogh said SAIDSA-approved security companies from all over South Africa compete in three categories namely fitness (time-based obstacle course), shooting (six exercises in different stances and distances) and driving which consists of three disciplines – knowledge of the Road Traffic Act, precision driving and gymkhana.
Participants compete individually for the Reaction Man of the Year accolade and in team format to determine the Best Reaction Company.
EPR West Rand was awarded top honours as Best Reaction Company of the year 2022 and honoured with the Best Spirit award during the event.
We are extremely proud of our two teams that participated in the event and even prouder of the fact that EPR Reaction Officer Markus Abbott received the accolade as Reaction Man 2022.”
In addition to the above the EPR teams walked away with 10 of the 15 medals awarded on the day:
• Paul Putter – gold and silver
• Antonie Botha – gold and silver
• Jason van Niekerk – silver and bronze
• Benjamin Vorster – gold
• Kyeren Bartman – silver
• Markus Abbott – bronze
• Gerrit de Waal – bronze
This is the seventh year that EPR has won this competition. Earlier this year EPR also won the SAIDSA Techman competition at Gallagher Convention Centre where alarm technicians from all over South Africa competed to determine the best technician in South Africa.
