According to O’maker, “I had just left for work and my wife and son were locking the gate when they were approached by six heavily armed men, who appeared in front of the gate and forced it open.

They instructed them to lie on the ground and they tied them up with ropes.

“They then forced them back into the house where they ransacked our property. They took off with our prized items including three cell phones, my wife’s jewellery, make-up, bank cards and plasma TV,” said O’maker who added that the robbers had fled the scene, leaving his wife and son still tied up.

They managed to untie themselves and rushed to their neighbour’s house and asked to make a call.

O’maker’s distraught wife called him at work and detailed what had transpired.

She told me what happened and I immediately called the police and they eventually responded to the scene,” said O’maker.

Westonaria Police spokesperson Audrey Sefara confirmed that the case was opened and added that investigations were underway.
