R’fontein police and partners host induction programme

Randfontein Police held an induction program at Westcol College discussing various topics including substance abuse and gender-based violence. Screenings were also done.

The Randfontein Police Station commander Brigadier Mashole Jacob Manamela together with the Social Crime Prevention Unit in partnership with Rotanganedza Community Care, St Martins De Pores and the Department of Health held an induction programme at Westcol College in Helikon Park on Wednesday, August 3.

Randfontein police spokesperson Sergeant Carmen Hendricks said the station commander engaged with the students, and there were heated discussion about topics including gender-based violence, missing persons, substance abuse, drugs, hijackings and alcohol abuse.

The students were also encouraged to report any criminal activities and to make use of our victim-friendly room office at the police station, and to be more vigilant,” said Hendricks.

Blood pressure were also taken and screenings were done.
