WATCH: A closer look at what investigations at Jannas revealed

Investigators tasked with looking into allegations of racism and sexual harassment against Hoƫrskool Jan Viljoen revealed that things were not as they should be at the school.

A team tasked with investigating pressing issues at Hoƫrskool Jan Viljoen found that other external parties had fanned the flames instead of helping to get things under control.

Among the findings that were revealed on Tuesday May 17 during Gauteng MEC for Education Panyaza Lesufi’s visit were that other learners at the school had violated certain laws at different times.

Luke Enslin, a representative of the special security services said as the investigative body, they recommend disciplinary action be taken against all those identified during the investigation.

It was further determined that more learners were also involved in the initial fighting and escalation of the violence,” Enslin added.

During the submission Enslin recommended that the school establish a grievance committee which will in future handle grievances so that these things do not get out of hand.

Another recommendation was for the school to establish a course on diversity in an effort to assist people from different backgrounds to understand one another better ā€“ to understand why certain people do things differently.
