Housebreaking and theft still high in Randfontein – Mapogo crime report

This past week Mapogo A Mathamaga Security revealed an increase in crime incidents that occurred in Helikonpark, Greenhills Culemborg Park and Randgate.

It was a relatively busy week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s client base in Randfontein.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said only three incidents were reported for the period between Monday, February 14 and Sunday, February 20.

A breakdown of the incidents:

• Wednesday, February 16 at 04:54 – Housebreaking and theft on Kanarie Road, Helikonpark. Intruders gained entry onto the premises by climbing over the perimeter fence, stole a lawnmower and fled the scene.

• Thursday, February 17 at 10:19 – Theft of a motor vehicle on Lazar Street, Randgate. The owner’s son stopped his vehicle in the open driveway of the premises and went into the house. On his return he found that his Toyota Corolla vehicle had been stolen.

• Friday, February 18 at 02:37 – Housebreaking and theft on Tulbach Avenue, Culemborg Park. Intruders forced open the locks of the safety gate and the wooden door, entered the premises and stole items.

• February 18 at 11:32 – Theft on Raven Road, Greenhills. Whilst the owner was inside the house intruders climbed over the front gate, stole a welding machine from the garage and fled the scene.
