The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 62 941 with 60 833 recoveries and 1 739 deaths. This translates to a total of 369 active cases.

A total of 8 190 848 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as of January 22. The total number of individuals fully vaccinated is 4 257 826.

In the West Rand, which comprises Mogale City, Rand West City, and Merafong City, 562 319 vaccinations have been administered, with 293 620 individuals fully vaccinated.

All persons older than 12 years old are encouraged to visit their nearest vaccination site to receive the jab. It is thought that vaccinating 70% or more of the adult population can minimise the impact of the fourth wave. The Department of Health (DoH) further reminds the public that those who received a two-dose vaccine need to return for their second dose at 42 days.

All Gauteng sites, both private and public, accept walk-ins whether people are registered on the EVDS or not.
