Introducing Emelda Jabulile Kunene as PA candidate councillor

This time we introduce the prospective ward councillors for the Patriotic Alliance (PA) who will be contesting the 2021 local government elections in Rand West City on November 1.

The Herald introduces to the community the Patriotic Alliance’s (PA) first candidate councillor in this year’s upcoming local government elections, Emelda Jabulile Kunene.

1. Name:

Emelda Jabulile Kunene, 58

2. Ward running for?

18

3. Areas that fall under the ward:

Mohlakeng

4. Why should the community vote for you?

I have great leadership skills, I’m strongly driven, and I vow for a good change. I am a problem-solver and I fight for what is right. No one deserves to struggle whilst we’ve got the opportunity to practise change at any given time.

I’m going to do things differently by taking notes of daily challenges in my area so that I tackle one challenge at a time at the end of the day. At the end, it is the people who matter.

4. If elected, what would you focus on and why?

I’ve realised that our community is suffering from many ills, such as poverty, teenage pregnancy, HIV/Aids, crime, gender-based violence, and drug and substance abuse. The youth also need jobs, therefore I will do everything in my power to make sure that the situation is better.

5. Outside of local council duties, how are you involved in the community?

I am part of a neighbourhood committee that seeks to resolve issues that the community is facing by discussing, communicating and understanding each other’s needs and concerns.
