Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City still declining – now at 8

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 50 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 14 267. A total of 13 745 people have recovered so far. There has been 514 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 8.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 29 370 and 10 155 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 28 533 and 9 776 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 53 799 with 1 693 deaths and 52 056 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 50.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 52 885 and 52 091 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 915 717 with 894 521 recoveries and 19 340 deaths. This translates to 1 856 active cases within the Province.
