Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City down to 56

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 14 200. A total of 13 634 people have recovered so far. There has been 510 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 56.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 29 174 and 10 058 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 28 247 and 9 619 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 53 439 with 1 671 deaths and 51 502 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 266.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 52 377 and 51 312 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 904 939 with 878 338 recoveries and 18 690 deaths. This translates to 7 911 active cases within the Province.
