One suspect was arrested after the body of a rape victim was found in an open veld near the Randfontein Dumping site on Thursday 18 August.
According to Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the victim was taken there by six men, who allegedly raped and killed her.
“During the police’s preliminary investigations one suspect was traced, arrested and charged with the rape and murder. The other five suspects are still on the run,” Hendricks said.
Police have also urged the public to assist with information that can lead to the arrest of the other suspects.
