Women from all corners come together for powerful empowerment talk
They discussed various topics such as gender-based violence (GBV), finances, values, the country's economy, and security affecting women during an empowerment talk held in Randfontein.
Women from all corners of South Africa shared their experiences and discussed numerous touching topics during a Women’s Day event at Mathata’s Lounge in Randfontein South on Monday, August 9.
Women from the west, north, south, the East Rand and Soweto came together for the empowerment talk.
Organiser Bongi Buthelezi said the event in association with Women Integral Impact Network (WIIN), founded by Francesca Fondse, was aimed at meeting up with women on the West Rand.
“We wanted to spend the day on the West Rand to share experiences that we all have as women of South Africa.”
They discussed various topics such as gender-based violence (GBV), finances, values, the country’s economy, and security affecting women.
“Our voices need to be recognised and acknowledged in sectors that are giving us as women a chance to move into mostly male-dominated positions. We still need to crack most of the market.”
She added that they had a good time and would like to get more women from the West Rand involved.
