The 37-year-old Sibusiso Mavuso was remanded in police custody by the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 23 after his case was postponed to Monday, July 26.
Mavuso made a brief appearance and is facing a charge of incitement to commit public violence. He was arrested on Friday, July 16.
According to Phindi Mjonondwane, the regional spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority, Mavuso’s case was postponed because he didn’t have legal representation
“We expect his legal representative to bring a bail application on the same day,” Mjonondwane said.
Mavuso was initially linked to an incident at Westonaria Pick n Pay.
