Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City up to 822
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 2 824 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 8 503. A total of 7 431 people have recovered so far. There has been 250 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 822.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 16 053 and 6 060 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 13 991 and 5 450 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 30 623 with 925 deaths and 26 874 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 2 824.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 26 620 and 23 404 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 505 322 with 456 745 recoveries and 11 673 deaths. This translates to 36 904 active cases within the Province.
