The Randfontein Police are asking for help to locate a man who is wanted for raping a 19-year-old girl at a tavern in Mohlakeng in April.
Randfontein Police spokesperson, Sergeant Carmen Hendricks said the incident occurred at about 23:50 on Sunday, April 18. Hendricks said the incident was only reported later as the suspect threatened to stab the victim if she reported him.
The girl was allegedly raped in the restroom of the tavern after an unknown man had offered to walk her there.
While in the restroom a man opened the door asking if he could assist her to get dressed, but then he forced himself on her,” said Sergeant Hendricks.
“We are appealing to the public to help with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.
