Almost all crime incidents reported to EPR Security in Rand West City over the long Easter weekend occurred at businesses.
Of the 15 crime incidents reported, 12 occurred at businesses. Those incidents included vehicle theft, trespassing, theft, and damage to property. Three other incidents of damage to property were reported at a school and at two residences – the latter two cases included theft.
Johan Krogh, EPR General Manager said, “As expected, with most residents home over this period and businesses closed, the businesses were targeted most over this period. Despite additional patrols in the area, more incidents were reported over this period compared to last year when the country was in lockdown level one over Easter.”
