Police have launched a murder investigation after a man, believed to be in his 30s, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in his vehicle at a shopping centre in Westonaria on Saturday evening, 20 March.
“A case of murder has been opened and investigations are ongoing,” confirmed Sergeant Audrey Sefara, Westonaria Police spokesperson.
Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson said at about 5pm, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the man in his vehicle.
Upon assessment, they found that he had sustained several gunshot wounds. Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene.
He added the scene was handed over to the police to conduct an investigation.
