Barachel bakes 300 cupcakes for kids with cancer

Barachel Christian Academy recently baked and sold 300 cupcakes for Cupcakes of HOPE

Barachel Christian Academy recently baked and sold 300 cupcakes over two days to raise funds for Cupcakes of HOPE.

Teacher Niquita Mettam who coordinated the project said the aim is to help the families of children who have been diagnosed with various types of cancers, and cannot afford to pay for regular treatments.

“The project started after the six-year-old daughter of our family friends was diagnosed with cancer recently. We’ve decided to start the initiative because it was close to our hearts,” Niquita said.

After she discovered Cupcakes of HOPE on social media, they’ve decided to do something for the greater good of the community.

She thanked staff members of the school and members of the community for showing their support.

“Parents from our school and people within the community ordered the cupcakes. We’re glad that everyone was there to help us as we make a difference in the community,” Mettam said.
